Foster Update – May 2012

It is hard to believe that just over a year ago I announced my candidacy for mayor of Bridgeport. It seems like both a long time ago and just yesterday. I am reaching out today to all of you who supported my campaign with your time, thinking, and treasure to say, “Thank You” again. I am extremely proud of the campaign we ran and it would not have been possible without the many gifts of kindness and support I received from so many. I am deeply grateful.

Game Over – Finch Wins

We will be watching! Taking notes!

A lot can happen in two short years. More campaign promises can be broken and the City of Bridgeport can go downhill even further. Or not. We will be watching and if needed, we will be back two years from now yelling and screaming. Stay tuned…

Thank you Bridgeport!

An Open Letter From Mary Jane Foster

Dear friends and supporters –

I am writing to share my deepest gratitude with each and every one of you who worked your hearts out with me and contributed to my campaign. While we did not achieve the outcome we had hoped for, we forged friendships that will last well beyond primary day and we stood up, together, to challenge the status quo.

Irrespective of what you may have heard or read, I am not going to be on the sidelines or rule out any future options. I look forward to the next chapter.

In case you did not see yesterday’s Connecticut Post, the following open letter is my way of publicly thanking you. I am deeply humbled by your support.

Sincerely,

Mary Jane Foster

We Are Still “Anybody But Finch”

Rick Torres, Republican Candidate for Mayor, Comments on Democratic Primary Results

“Tonight’s primary results bring to an end a long, arduous primary season for the Democrats. After a bitterly fought race and a valiant effort put forth by Mary-Jane Foster, the Democratic party has chosen its candidate. Regrettably, once again the political machine has prevailed.

Thankfully though, the war is not lost. Although bloodied, Bridgeport’s opposition forces have one more chance to defeat a common enemy. Just as we did in 2003, we can now focus on uniting Democrats tired of machine politics with Independents and Republicans to purge our city once and for all of Mario Testa, Bill Finch, and the Bridgeport Democratic Machine.

9191 Votes Cast… What a Poor Turnout

Foster Loses by Almost 1600 Votes.

The votes are in and Bridgeport once again is headed toward mediocrity. I have a hard time believing that only twenty percent of the eligible voters were interested in Bridgeport’s future. Or… only nine percent (of eligible voters) wanted change. Like I’ve said before… “There are suckers born every minute” and unfortunately Bridgeport has at least 44,000 suckers who believe they have no power to influence government.
